Athena Cabin

[Estelle]

Estelle was worried about Acacia. Sure, she was the fiercest owl she had ever met, but she just couldn't help herself. She shook her head and tried to concentrate on her latest project-finding an antidote for rattlesnake poison.Aware that it could blow something up, Estell e poured a thick liquid into another. Thankfully, nothing happened.

[Syl]

"Hey, what are you doing?" Syl asked as she pushed the door open to the Athena Cabin. It was as neat as ever, and Estelle was sitting there, creating some kind of liquid. "Need help?"

[Estelle]

Estelle smiled as she wiped some of the liquid from her hands. 'Oh, it's just a project.' She slid a hand under her bed mattress and pulled something out- an assortment of snacks and drinks. She selected a can of apple cider and offered the box to Syl. 'Want some?'

[Syl]

"Sure," She said, gently holding the box Estelle had offered her. She chose a granola bar and took a bite. "Yum," She said quietly.

[Shade Hardy]

Shade walked in from the library. He was carrying about 6 books and most of them are Shakespeare Plays. Like Hamlet (Shade's personal favorite). "Hello." Shade put the books on his bed. "What ya doing?"

[Estelle]

Estelle hit the desk, frustrated. 'This,' she held up a vial of liquid. 'is rattlesnake venom. I'm trying to find the antidote. Megan, the girl in the Titan Army, has this rattlesnake named Dauntless. I think I've heard that it was a gift from Zelos, her dad. I think I've also heard that it's killed one of our siblings,' she looked up at the two of them. 'This is the challenge, Shade.'

[Shade Hardy]

"Wow I um..." Shade stuttered. "What do I need to do?" Shade asked.

[Estelle]

Estelle smiled as she opened a can of soda and drank some. 'Use that genius brain to help,' she said playfully as she offered him a can. She sighed. 'Looks like I'll have to find some more of these herbs in the woods. Shame, they're hard to find.' she looked up at her brother, as though expecting something. 'Any suggestions? I might've missed something.'

[Shade Hardy]

"Well from what I know about anti-venom the venom needs to be diluted and injected into a horse, sheep or goat. Then subject animal will undergo an immune response to the venom, producing antibodies against the venom's active molecule which can then be harvested from the animal's blood and used to treat snake bites." Shade paused. "Sorry I tend to ramble a lot." Shade smiled.

[Estelle]

'It's okay, I do that too.' Estelle paused. 'But the problem is that we don't have a subject animalanimal.'

[Shade Hardy]

"Maybe we could use a Pegasus?" Shade thought out loud.

[Estelle]

Estelle closed her eyes. 'But I'm not sure if the caretakers would agree to us experimenting on them..'

[Shade Hardy]

Shade sighed. "Well I didn't want to tell anyone about her but I guess I can trust you." Shade  made a loud whistle. A few seconds later a black cat appeared. "This is Shadow I got her in London before I moved to the US. I hid her from my dad." Shadow purred well rubbing on Shade's leg. "I think Shadow might work."

[Estelle]

'She's beautiful,' Estelle noted. 'And yes, she'll work. Want to do the honors?' Estelle smiled as she offered the vial and needle.

[Shade Hardy]

"Sure." replied Shade. Shade carefully grabbed Shadow and calmed her down. Then Shade stuck the needle in lightly. "Good Girl!" Shade told Shadow and started petting her

[Estelle]

Estelle smiled. Finally she was getting somewhere- she thanked Athena for Shade. Now the responsibility was divided in two, she felt much better. She bent down and picked up a stray pencil.
