Nico cursed under his breath. He did think about taking a sip, but he knew saltwater killed one if he drank from it. The fourteen-year-old closed his eyes, and imagined all futures he could choose from that Hecate and the Fates gave him: Die, Survive, Suffer. The first two seemed best, (Well, the second more, really). Hadn't he had enough? Everything in the past four years; the Labyrinth, Tartarus, the evil mythological creatures, oh gods... Nico preffered to only see those in Mythomagic. Cupid was probably the worst, the most humiliating. But as far as he knew, Jason had been completely loyal.
Nico leaned against the tree trunk as he thought about the choices. In the end, only one of these options would come true. He just hoped what he was doing, he would be happy.

((Well, it is first come first serve! Acceppted!)) Piper quietly watched the exchange between Percy and Nico. She bit her lip, feeling nobody really knew what advice to giv e her. Hoping Nico might do the same, she walked quietly away from the dock, so that Percy and Annabeth could have some alone time. The gods knew they needed it. Piper, meanwhile, would start by talking to Leo or Jason, whichever she found first. one of her best friends and her boyfriend-- how could it possibly be that hard?

[I'm gonna take a wild guess and say she's gonna find Leo first... She might have some difficulties with finding Jason. =P]

Annabeth went to join Percy and Nico by the river, not wanting to be too far away from her Seaweed Brain. She sat down by the bank, leaning on a maple tree. Faint noises of disapproval began emitting from the maple's spirit, so she calmly put her hand on the hilt of her sword. The dryad stopped complaining.
Her gaze went to the son of Hades, whose eyes were closed as he leaned on a tree as well (he could get away with it no problem, as the dryads were way too scared to confront him). She couldn't help but be concerned for him. Not that it was something new, but he seemed really tired, in multiple ways.

Nico soon fell asleep. And sleeping comes with dreams. In case you didn't know, dreams for a demigod weren't very much luck often.
In his dream, Nico saw his mother sitting on the couch, watching him and Bianca play. "Figilo mio, you have been a very bad boy. A very bad boy. And with disobedience comes punishment." Nico's mother said to him. He looked around, confused. What had he done wrong? He'd been a very good one -for a six year old, than is. But Nico didn't understand.
"Mama, I hadn't done anything-"
"Shut up, disappointment!" His mother snapped in a voice that wasn't her own.
"Mama, your voice has-"
"Silence!" Nico's mother raised her hands, and froze her son.
Nico woke up, screaming. "Aah!!!!"

Piper spun arond, freezing in her tracks, when she heard Nico. Holding Katoptris in one hand, she ran toward the son of Hades. It was strange, hearing his voice in something louder than a hoarse whisper. "Nico..." she said quietly. His motives still confused her. But Jason trusted him, so she felt she must. "Are you okay? What happened?"

Leo grinned as he saw Piper. "Hey, Piper- Wait up! We need to talk!" He caught up to her, his eyes wild like flames dancing in a circus show.

She bit her lip. It was Leo. Plastering on a fake smile, Piper looked him in the eye. "Hey, Valdez. Whats up? You okay? You havent been yourself lately..." she hesitated. She wasnt sure how Leo would react. He mostly just shrugged it off.

Piper blushed at the sudden mention of her and Jason. Thinking of him pushed away her concern for Leo- but only a little. "Yeah," she smiled, looking down at her feet. "He took me to the lake." She shook herslef out of her stupor. There were more pressing matters to discuss. "But he wasnt exactly himself. Like you. you both are acting different. any clue? he's your best friend."

Nico's expression had relaxed somewhat, so Annabeth assumed he had fallen asleep. Hopefully he wasn't dreaming of anything too terrible. The kid deserved a break.

Annabeth watched Percy swim around for a short while, then leaned forward to say something to him. There was a scream, and she shot to her feet, hand flying to her sword.
"Nico!"
He was awake now, eyes wide. It seemed her hopes had been false. She cursed under her breath, heart pounding a little at the scare.
Taking a deep breath, she reached out with her left hand. "You okay, Nico?" she murmured, resting her hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

Nico's eyes were wide, and he stuttered, "Mom- Demon thing- Dream!" And ignored Annabeth's hand on his shoulder. "Yeah. I'm okay."

Annabeth pursed her lips. So his nightmares involved his mom and a 'demon thing'. It wasn't exactly considered unusual though, with demigods. She hoped he really was okay; he looked even paler, if that was possible. "Good."
She returned to her spot by the maple tree, but didn't sit down.

Nico stared at the lake, at his reflection in the water. Was this really him? Was this a dream? What is life? Nico didn't know the answer to any of these questions. He just sat, leaning on the trunk of the tree. "What are we to do now?" He asked aloud.
