Boating at the Lake

[GeneralArin]

Jake sat on the dock, watching the little boat he made chug around the lake.
It was rather silly, when he thought about it. But he was bored, it was okay.

The boat wasn't anything special. It wasn't much bigger than a paper boat kids made. It was rather shiny, though, from the metal. He had to make it out of metal to fit a steam engine so it would move. He had given it a little flame to keep moving. It looked almost like an old-timey steamboat. Only miniature.

A nyaid gave him a look and Jake gave a broad shrug. It wasn't hurting anything. He had his feet in the water, though that was just about as wet as he normally tolerated being. It was a nice day out. Summer was wrapping up sometime soon, and camp was mostly back to normal.

[Estelle]

'Nice boat,' Estelle commented. She sat down besides him. 'What's up?'

[GeneralArin]

Jake looked up at Estelle, who was just sitting down.
"Besides the boat? Nothing really. Normal camp stuff." Jake said with a shrug. It was almost good to say that. Almost, besides the boredom bit. "Anything new on your end?"

[Estelle]

'Not really.' Estelle said sadly. It was sad, really, because boredom did her no good at all. Well, besides the rattlesnake antidote she found. But that was old news, and Jake probably heard of it. 'I'm dying of boredom.'

[GeneralArin]

Jake grinned. "It's just slowly wasting away at us." He laughed. "We're shell-shocked: we can't handle it when we're not fighting." He let himself laugh that one away as he watched his boat chug around the lake. He shook his head. "It's been quite an active summer."

[Estelle]

Estelle grinned.'I know, it's been crazy.' She watched Acacia fly around. 'I can't believe I'm missing it.' She was probably mad, wishing for more action.

[GeneralArin]

Jake laughed. "Right?" He shook his head again. "I mean, it's hard to beat fighting forces of darkness and destruction with magical artifacts alongside giant robot dragons." He looked on the boat for a moment.
"Well, except for watching a six inch boat chug along the lake, that's in a class of its own." He joked, making a wry grin.

"Oh yes, but then there's speed and harmony involved. Two things that never go along well,"
Her appearance was marked by Honey, who came towards Jake and barked once gleefully. Lily grinned, and sat down, her bow in one hand and its quiver on her shoulder.
It had been some time since she had used her arrows. But she liked to use them at times, especially these early days of fall.
She liked fall a lot, she really did, but almost always got moody then.
It reminded her of too many things.

[Estelle]

'Actually, they sometimes do.' Estelle scowled as she tried to think of an example. 'Like when your weapon is moving with incredible speed and you just know you're gonna win, you get a peace of mind. I do anyways. Sometimes it goes well under great stress.' She sighed. 'Even Acacia's bored. She says prey's too easy these days.'

[GeneralArin]

Jake gave her dog a playful 'woof' back. He smiled at Lily as she sat down, then replied to Estelle.
"Maybe it's the drop after the 'great stress'. It's like the crash after a sugar high." He commented. "Only instead of sugar it's adrenaline."
He grinned at Lily. "The topic is our extreme boredom, have anything to add?"

[Estelle]

Estelle waved Acacia over. She didn't have much to do anyways. 'I'm sure you can contribute to the topic,' she grinned playfully. Acacia swooped over and sat on Jake's head. 'No, Acacia.' Estelle rolled her eyes. 'How do you feel having an owl on your head?' she asked him, waving an imaginary microphone in front of his face.

"Oh,I don't count things like that,"
Lily looked up at the sky, and smiled up at it. She felt nervous, and high. Maybe it was from all the butterflies in her stomach. She didn't know. She didn't want to know, either.
She cold sense trouble, and that always never led to any good.
"No, not really, shall we move on to a different topic?"

[GeneralArin]

Jake looked up at the owl without moving his head. He shrugged. "Indifferent. Unless owls are like pigeons. In which case I mind very much." He would rather not have to wash owl poop out of his hair.

He glanced at Lily. "Alright. Any suggestions? All I can contribute is distracting automatons and comments I think are witty."

[Estelle]

Esrelle nodded and Acacia dlew inro her arms. 'Um. I dunno..'

"I dunno. I mean, all I think of these days are very.........well, negative things,"
Lily said, still looking up at the sky. She mostly thought of death, and grief, and well, reminisced a lot.
These days were one of her worst days. The days when she shouldreally be shut up in a padded cell until she got back into her body.
But here she was, talking with two people. Had she recovered?
"You won't like them. They're depressing, and could make things awkward,"
