Estelle winced as the blade cut through her shirt, leaving a gash underneath. She grit her teeth from the pain, but ignored the blood. Good thing that wasn't her favorite shirt. 'I knew you were smart,' she said through clenched teeth, amused in spite of her wound. 'No one had the guts to try that before.' she cocked her head. 'I wonder why.' She retreated a few steps backwards like a wounded wolf, and got into an offensive position, putting those brain cells to work.

Jake gave her a full grin. "Because you're a terrifying girl." He said, watching her movements. "I'm just too stupid to think of things like that before hand."
He stayed on the balls of his feet, ready to move again, but didn't press the advance. This was only training, and he'd rather not put people into the infirmary for too long.

'Not more than the Ares kids,' Estelle said, grinning back. She felt a spark in her brain, the start of an idea. Did she bring one of those with her? She slapped her pocket. Yes she did. She ran at Jake, her knife tucked away- and thrust at Jake's sword hand, missing it just narrowly enough so that the opponent could fall for the trick. She swooped down, plucked that something out of her pocket, and pretended to pick it off the floor. She waved that something in front of his face. 'Oops, Jake.' she said, acting really sorry, regretful, with anguish. 'Oh gods I am so sorry.'

The something was a very realistic rubber finger digit.

Jake quickly pulled back his sword hand, feeling something get nicked. Then he jerked back trying to see clearly what was waving around in his face. He took a step back.
When he realized what it was, he burst out laughing. He actually doubled over for a bit.

"That's... that's pretty good." He said, starting to catch his breath again. He put his sword in the other hand. He then pulled back his ring finger and waved it around, still giggling. "Does this mean I can be an assassin now?" He didn't care if people didn't get the joke. He found it hilarious.

'I think we should just end this session.' Estelle said, smiling and shaking her head. 'It seems like you'll never recover.' She sat down nearby, inviting Jake to sit next to her.

"What can I say you-" Jake managed to choke down the last bits of laughter. "You killed me."
By all rights, it probably shouldn't have been that funny. But come on, Black humor pranks? It's been too long.

He put away his sword and shield and plopped down beside Estelle. He grinned at her. "Now, I have indisputable evidence that a good joke's much better than swordplay."

'That is one piece of wisdom the Hermes kids live by,' Estelle grinned back. She rummaged around her backpack, then came up with a painkiller. She injected it. 'I tried that on the Ares kids before. They didn't even realize it was fake.' She tossed the rubber digit to Jake. 'You can have it, I have tons more.'

Jake laughed as he pocketed the finger. "I'm not even going to ask." He said, putting up his hands and shaking his head. He poked the edge of the wound on his arm. He had almost forgotten about it in the fight, and now that his attention wasn't needed, the cut was demanding it.
"I should probably cover this up soon." He said, looking at it coolly. "I'm bleeding on the last stain-free jeans I own."

'Here, I have some gauze,' Estelle fished it out of her pack and handed it over. 'Need painkiller?'

Jake took the gauze and started wrapping it up.
"Nah, I can handle pain, because I'm manly." He said, grinning as he said it. Though, honestly, compared to other injuries he had gotten, namely from a run-in with the Minotaur, this was just a scratch. An annoying scratch, but nothing to worry him beyond inconveniences.

'Yeah, sure,' Estelle said, smiling. 'Oh that was fun' she said. She stretched, probably bad for her wound, but she didn't really care.

Jake grinned and nodded in agreement. "Yah, it was." He thought for a moment.
"Summer's going to be over soon, are you staying at camp again?"

Estelle hesitated. 'I think I'm going to school this time with Jay. Maybe Lily's going to come too.' she smiled devilishly. 'I wonder already what pranks I could pull on those teachers. How about you?'

"I'm going to pretend I'm relatively normal, like usual." He said with a laugh. "I didn't get suspended this time, so I'm still going to Dobbs Ferry." He nodded to himself. "I'm going to be a junior this year."

Jake gave a scoff. "For an Athena kid? Yah." He shrugged. "It's nice, I mean-- you get to meet a lot of people, gives you something to do other than fight monsters." He paused. "Unless you're actually fighting monsters."

'Which, I should say, happens sometime or other.' Estelle pointed out. 'But yeah, it sounds cool.' she frowned. 'I thought boarding schools have uniforms. I have to wear a skirt?' she said, disgusted. 'Jay would find that very funny.'

Jake laughed. "I guess it depends on which school you go to." He grinned. "Me and my mom agreed I didn't have to go to any school that made me where a skirt."

Estelle sighed and shook her head. 'I think I heard one of the two mention one.' she grinned. 'Oh, what I wouldn't give to see you in one. Maybe this Halloween you could dress up as a princess.'

'I strongly advise you to.' Estelle agreed. She twirled a small dart and twirled it. 'Do you think there are vampires in this world?' she asked suddenly.'I mean, I'm reading Twilight, and though it's a bit stupid..' she hesitated. 'Well, there are gods, no?'

"Greek vampires or vampire vampires?" Jake asked, completely deadpan. He had fought a Greek one. Well, *Wes* had fought one, he had almost gotten eaten by one. After a pause Jake added: "With Twilight Vampires not being in either category, mind you."
