Still the color is off and why would you a picture that looks that bad in the first place any ways.

Okay, first off, Condor, I was only using the picture Zach wanted me to. Second off, this isn't even your graphic signature that I'm doing. If Zach wants to complain, he can, but as I said, I'M REDOING IT. So that last picture doesn't even matter. I know Zach in real life, so I know what he wants, and you don't. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but I think you're making way too big a deal about this when it doesn't even concern you.

Alright Estelle, here's the first one. I thought the background was kind of a nice fit for him, since it's an apocalypse of Paris and his name is French :3 Tell me what you think, and I'll post the one with the pretty golden forest background once I figure out how to outline the words...

Ceru and CONDOR please stop the arguing. If you wish to give her criticism do so through PM or atleast in a more helpful way. Rather than: You did such and such wrong why are you posting this? Please better of a: You did such and such wrong here's something that could help fix it.

Seeing as how these are only her first tries they look pretty good to me. And we should be thankful she's even doing this for us. So, like I said earlier please stop arguing.

I think the ruined city looks best with the color tones. The forest background is too bright for the rest of the schemes, and while the last background matches the colors, there's too much going on, it distracts from the main character image.

The city is more impressionistic, and the colors are muted. The rain also helps set the mood as well. It's not full-on dark and death as people usually go for, and I think the feelings conveyed also helps. However, on this background the "25th Night" doesn't show up as well. Perhaps a different color outline would be good-- maybe a reverse of the main title, or a grey tone that goes with the background.

Color-wise, I suppose the graveyard works as well, but it feels off for what you're going for. Maybe that's going into my opinion. I would recommend, if this one's staying, to fade the bottom into black like the city does. The city probably does because of the image, but it looks much better than straight black frame.



As a more general thing for Ceru, I think you did a good job with making the letters have that outline. Most people neglect that, and it makes the words hard to read. However, the second color for the "25th night" didn't have that advantage, since the primary color ended up the nearly same as the secondary.
Try and work out a color scheme to get things to go together better. There's some pretty well-defined shadows on the character image, maybe it'd be cool to try and work with that.
Try to match the styles of the images. (Like real and real, impressionistic and drawing, etc) And try to keep in mind what's the focus of the image: in this sort of thing, I would expect the character is, not the background. Choose one(s) that makes the focus pop more, and try to avoid things that take the attention away from the focus, like the splashes in the first and last ones.

Anyway, technique-wise, they look nice.

Estelle: YAY! I'm glad you like them :-) If my opinion matters at all, my person favorites are the one with the clock tower (the one Jake liked) and the last one, just because I think the quote gives that one an interesting twist...
Jake: Thanks for your constructive criticism! I will take it all into context. Concerning the the "25th Night" on the clock tower one, I did notice that, and I figured I would just change it if Estelle decided to choose that one, or if she specifically asked me to. The reason I didn't on the spot was because I accidentally put his name as well as that subtitle on the same layer...and I didn't wanna go to the trouble of deleting it and making a new one. When I get back to school, though (which will be Monday, Estelle) I'll fix it.
As far as the black frame goes, I actually like it on the golden forest one, because since Violet is an anime picture, it makes it look like he's standing in that black space in front of the picture. *shrugs* But I see what you mean, and I'll figure out how to fade the bottom into black for future reference, lol...
And thank you! I figured there'd be no point to being words if you couldn't see them... And yeah, as I mentioned earlier, I didn't even mean to outline those particular words--they were just on the same layer as the name. The two colors were, in fact, the same, cuz they were both white, lawl...So it just made the words look thicker As far as lighting goes, I'm still working on getting better at that...I'll have to look up some techniques on the Internet or something, since I'm not actually in the class...
