Learning to Shoot, Moved (Hannah)

There were a lot of benefits of being a child of Apollo. Being able to learn healing magic. All were gifted with talents in medicine, poetry and music and had a certain knack for driving chariots too. But out of all the gifts they were given there was one which stood out the most; their flawless talent with bows.
Which was why Dominic hated bows with a passion, for he had not inherited this amazing talent.
He was a marksman with the eyes of a hawk, there was no question of that, using his crossbow he could shoot the wings off a fly. But bows and arrows seemed to require more focus. On more than one occasion Dominic had missed his shot and accidentally hit the camps lovable guardian Agamemnon in the tail.
It had taken him a while to adjust to the feel of the bow. Which was why he stood at the archery range staring down targets with a simple bow and a sheath full of arrows.

Hannah entered the archery range. She figured that maybe she could use some little practice once in a while. She held her bow in hand. Being a child of Apollo, Hannah was as well gifted with the talents with bows. She has only used her bow once, just that one time. And now, she wanted to be sure that it wasn't just beginner's luck. "Hi!" she greeted as she saw a fellow child of Apollo, Dominic.

Dominic yelped. He had been in the process of readying an arrow and had just prepared to shoot it at the nearest target when Hannah greeted him. He let the arrow go in surprise and watched as it soared through the air and pierced the dirt before the targets.
He let out an angry sigh and turned to yell at the person responsible for breaking his concentration, but when he saw it was Hannah his expression softened.
'Oh, hi.' Dominic said with surprise, 'Hannah right?'

[H.Brightlight]

"Yeah!" she replied. "Oh and... sorry about your last shot. I think I kinda distracted you." she apologized.

[Dominic Moss]

'Don't worry about it. I'm a lousy shot with these things anyway.' Dominic replied and gave her a small smile before notching another arrow and raising his bow towards the target again. He let the arrow fly. This time it struck the outer ring of the target.
'Still can't hit the bullseye' Dominic muttered before turning back to Hannah, 'How are you finding camp kiddo?' He asked while notching a new arrow.

"Well, I have to admit it's kinda weird. But I'm starting to get used to it." she replied. "Nice shot by the way." she added.

[Dominic Moss]

'You flatter me. Bet you can hit the centre in one shot' Dominic said with a sigh before firing another arrow. once again it hit the outer circle.

[H.Brightlight]

"Well, I've done it ONCE...... Beginner's Luck, I guess." Kids of Apollo are gifted with great skills in terms of bows. Hannah had only tried firing an arrow once. And with her luck, she was a bull's eye. She figured she wanna try and give it another shot. She aimed the arrow to a target and whispered some prayers to Apollo. 'Oh come... please... fly straight.' without anymore ado, she released her arrow. Sadly, it wasn't a bull's eye today, but almost. She sighed. "See... told you it was just beginner's luck. I guess not all children of Apollo are good at this."

Dominic wanted to agree with her. For a moment he thought that it might make him feel better about not being able to use a bow and arrow himself, but seeing her sad made him want to help.
'Hey, don't give up.' Dominic said, 'I'm sure you can hit the bulls eye. I bet you've got the eyes of a hawk.' He said with a grin before walking up behind her and guiding her hands to set up another shot with the bow and arrow.
'Come on. You can do it.' He said encouragingly.

"Thanks... Dominic, I hope you don't mind me asking. How long have you been staying here at Camp?" she asked as she shot another arrow, but it still didn't hit the center.

[Dominic Moss]

'Hmmm good question.' Dominic said and backed up to let Hannah practice by herself.
'Well I came here during my winter vacation in New York. That was last year in late November...so I guess its been five maybe six months?'

[H.Brightlight]

"Well, were you freaked-out too?" she asked while preparing to fire another arrow.

[Dominic Moss]

'Freaked out?' Dominic asked whilst suppressing a laugh, 'Hannah. I was terrified.'
He backed up and sat on the ground watching her as she fired more arrows, 'Before I came here I was told that all my encounters with monsters were in my head. In the first hour I nearly offended Kristina by being so freaked out.'

Hannah made as small laugh as Dominic was talking. She fired another arrow and fortunately it hit the center of the target. Hannah didn't know how to react. She was stunned of the arrow's position. "Dominic look!" she pointed towards the arrow. She felt really happy and couldn't take the smile off her face. "I can't believe I did it!"

[Dominic Moss]

Dominic grinned broadly. His smile lit up like the sun. In that moment he was sure that the two of them were related, because Hannah's smile was just as brilliant.
'Nice one! I'm totally jealous!' Dominic laughed and ruffled her hair, 'I think this settles things. You're definitely my sister. Only a sister of mine could kick my butt like that.'

[Fred]

" Aye but ah huve noticed that you Apollo kids have a tendency to forget close quarters combat. Have any of yous considered a bladed bow?" Fred asked speaking up she had been watching quietly meting the obviously better qualified Dominic to do the instructing.

[H.Brightlight]

Hannah thought of Fred's idea for a moment. "That's a nice idea, Fred. I want bow to be like that." she finally replied.

[Fred]

ooc Its just a suggestion. after all its your character i was just thinking about how to approach the weakness of close quarters. Don't think im trying to run your character please.

" Im sure there must be something arroon the camp or in ma cabin." Fred wondered.

[Dominic Moss]

'Hey don't go giving my sister something dangerous. She could get hurt.' Dominic said before freezing up, 'Di Immortalis I'm becoming an overprotective brother.'

[H.Brightlight]

"But...." Hannah wanted to protest but she thought Dominic had a point. She wasn't even staying at camp that long. "Okay." she decided.
"Hey Dominic, children of Apollo are gifted with healing skills, right?" she asked him. "Can you teach me how to heal?" she continued.

[Fred]

Fred ran away only to return with a package a few moments later.
" Oi here." She said unceremoniously dumping the package in Hanna's arms.

" Its Japanese. Im nae archery expert but it should gae yeh an edge against an opponent. " She admitted.

[Dominic Moss]

'I can, but its not easy to learn. I'm not exactly an expert. Used to be, but then...well...long story.' Dominic said before watching as Fred returned with a package and handed it to Hannah.
'Go on.' Dominic said, 'Try it out. If it came from Fred its a good weapon.'

[H.Brightlight]

Hannah immediately check the package out. "It's awesome!!" she cried out as she got hold of the weapon. "Dominic! I wanna try it out! I wanna try it out!" she said excitedly. "Thanks Fred!"

[Dominic Moss]

'Just don't cut off anything vital with it. I only have enough random brotherly concern for one daughter of Apollo at a time.' Dominic joked before pulling up the bow again and notching another arrow. His eyes trained on the target.

[H.Brightlight]

Hannah happily swings her new bow's blade. "Hey Dominic! After this, teach me the healing stuff, okay?" Hannah said while still swinging her bow.
