Lexi's Forge Empty Lexi's Forge

Post  Lexi Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:13 pm

Lexi took a deep breath, and entered her forge for the first time. She had painted a wooden sign on the door, stating that this was 'Lexi's Forge,' and she had already began drawing up the bluerpints for her epic weapon of mass destruction, Harmless.
She loved that name, especially its greek form, ἀκέραιος, or akeraios. It was to be a celestial bronze ring, engraved with a hammer, and a flame, (representing Hephestus, and of course, Leo, which is perfectly normal...) which is to transform into a dagger. With a comfortable silver handle, wrapped in leather for extra comfort. She had it all sorted out, and a list of the things that she would forge within the week. Being sociable was so not an option, too many things to do!
Lexi took down a mental note to find out where to get Celestial Bronze.
(Lexi's forge is next to Jake's, by the way)

After a long night of hard work down in her forge, Lexi finally stood up from her desk, admiring her handiwork. Harmless gleamed in the firelight, looking very ahh.. scary.. sort of. Yes, a fine weapon of mass destruction.
"one down, 2 to go," she said to herself. Lexi got to work on Marie's order.
And what fine weapons they would make. Aegis and a celestial bronze sword. Very flashy. She'll be the most fashoinable Athena kid on the battlefield. "The only Athena kid on the battlefield, ifthe rest don't come back." she laughed out loud. yeah, she was definetely slightly mad. But all the best people are!
She unpacked the box of Celestial Bronze she had aquired from giving her entire lunch to Hephestus, in order to have a favour granted by him.
With the Aegis blueprints in front of her, she set to work.

She strode in purposfully, stoked the fires, took out a ton of celestial bronze, and emeralds, and set to work on two things at once: Lily and Cameron's weapons. Lexi had already drawn out the blueprints, and hummed while she worked.
Remembering to add the hole in the middle of Cameron's blade, she paused, and thought about making it even more awesome.
She gave the blade its own endless supply of electricity, so that Cameron could shock his opponents without draining his energy. And not just any sort of electricity either. Lexi only used the best. Deadly high voltage. Ohh yeah.

While she was waiting for the celestial bronze to cool down, she began drawing out blueprints for her amazing, totally awesome top-secret model, Project Gearhead. (i couldn't think of a name, okay?)

When she was done, Lexi put aside 20 especially rare blue sapphires to spell out Lily's name on the hilt of her sword. She was thinking about making High Tide able to channel titalwaves to drench the opponent with when Lily wanted it to. She put aside some Italian leather for Cameron and Lily's hilts, for extra comfort when handling the weapons.

She adjusted the blueprints for Cameron's sword, so that the emeralds encrusted on the hilt formed a lightning bolt with a cool 3D effect.

Lily's sword: (roughly. Image it in a more dolphin shape, with blue sapphires spelling out the name, 'Lily' on the hilt. It can be changed, its just a rough idea.

Cameron's sword: (imagine with a big hole in the middle for channeling and creating high voltage electricity, and with rare emeralds forming a lighting bolt wth a cool 3D effect. on the hilt.) okay.
I trited to edit it, but it pixelated the image when i tried to do it, so it won't work.
I talked to the guy who made the pic, he said that the weird glowing forcefield thing is a background that went wrong. Must have gone really wrong lol!
could we pretend that its not glowing, then, as editing the stupid pic is not working?
but if you wanna see the failed edited version, its here:

or we could say that the glowing part is the high voltage elctiricity surging thorugh it or something, as it generates its own source of high voltage electricity?

Lexi added the finishing touches to the swords, bound the hilts with Italian leather, encrusted Cameron's with emeralds and Lily's with blue sapphires.
She made boxes for the blades, Lily's one made of mother of pearl, and Cameron's steel with lightning bolts engraved onto it. Each box had a plaque with the owner's name on it, and underneath, the Greek version of the blade's name.
She set off to deliver them.

Lexi entered, and immediately went over to her Project Gearhead, hoping to get close to finishing it today.
She just had to melt some more celestial bronze, gold, silver and a little stygian iron, and pour them into casts..

While waiting for the metals to cool down, she got started on another project, Chameleon armor. It sounds cool, and it really works!
Well, she drew out the blueprints anyway, hoping that she'd work out how to make it act like a Chameleon as she worked on it.

okay..
Chamelian armour was waay to difficult. She needed more experience before she could make that, she realised that now.
Instead, she decided to make the cool armour that can also be used as a weapon, and the bead that makes people invisible.
Well, the bead was gonna be hard, without the help from Hecate, but she couldn't ask for the goddesses' help all the time. It would seem rude. So she quickly drew up a design for it, and wentto work on the armour, with different decorations depending on who it was for. 4 pieces of armour in total.

She had worked out a way for the invisible bead to work.
Lexi had come up with the idea while watching Cameron and Marie sparring in the arena. The bead would let out such a bright light that it was impossible to see the person wearing the bead (on a necklace) and also to see their weapon(s).
No magic required. Perfect.
She decided to incorporate it into the armour, so Lexi went to work making the beads and sewing them onto the shoulder of each of the pieces of armour.

Lexi's Forge Empty making stuff

Post  Lexi Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:18 pm

She had almost finished Project Gearhead. She popped the metal pieces out of the casts, and began screwing them in place.
After a few hours of hard work, she had finished. She took a Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar out of her pocket, threw it into the flames and said "Hephaestus," hoping it would work in the same way as it did in the dining pavilion. She hoped to get some help from her Dad so that she could bring her automation to life.
------------------------
After dinner, 5 hours later.
------
Lexi walked into the forge, writing notes on the next thing that she would make, and stopped in her tracks. She heard barking coming from the other side of the forge, where she had left her automation. She grinned and went over to see it. Sure enough, it sat there, howling and spitting hot, liquid gold.

After spending almost 2 weeks on Cameron's griffin, she finally finished it, putting her spare leather back in its cupboard. She admired her handiwork, before Iris-messaging Cameron to come and collect his new pet.

Lexi smiled and watched Cameron flying his griffin, knowing that the griffin would not allow him to lead him away from camp, unless Chiron said it was okay.

Lexi emerged from her forge for the first time in weeks. She had been working on a new project, and she mus5 have been so engrossed in her work that she didn't leave or something...'that's a good enough excuse. If !anyone asks, I'll tell them that.' She thought to herself, as she set off to find someone to talk to.
