City Thrills and Their Downsides

[Axel The Bunny]

Axel leaned on the wall of the Big House. Waiting for his beautiful girlfriend and hoping everything would go well. He had been in New York for a while now, yet he still hadn’t seen any of the city. Which was why he was going to the city with Lily today. The other reason for this outing was that even though Axel had been dating Lily for several months, they hadn’t actually gone on a real date outside of camp yet. So they had decided to go out to New York City today. Axel had even gotten up early today, so that they could have as much time as possible to spend together in the city. They planned to spend the whole day together exploring New York. They would see the sites; Axel wasn’t really sure what else Lily might have planned for the day. But as long as he was spending the day with her, he was happy with whatever they ended up doing.

Lily honestly had no idea why she was wearing it. She'd bought it as a joke, when a couple of the girls had gone out together shopping. There had been all types of coats similar to them, and the girls had forced her to get this one, of all things, claiming her blonde locks matched the pink perfectly.
She could still remember them laughing about how cute she'd look in it, but she'd never really worn it. Until now. She fingered the furry pink wool, as she walked towards Axel with expectantly. She'd planned this for days with Axel, but was still scared. Her knives were safely stowed away, and her necklace glimmered in the early morning sun, the mood ring in a stunning shade of pink. Maybe Chiron was trying to get her to go out into the world a little more. It certainly would explain the eagerness he has shown when Lily asked him for permission to go out.
"Hey," she said, holding her arms out expectantly for a hug.

Axel saw her walking up in a pink coat. Axel noticed the bunny ears on the hood. On any other girl it would probably look ridiculous but to Axel, Lily looked cute in that pink bunny coat, heck she looked cute in everything. Lily held up her hands expecting a hug, and Axel was happy to oblige, he wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace. "You make a cute bunny, you know that?" Axel said teasing her. He honestly had no clue she even owned a coat like this, but it wasn’t a surprise that she still looked good. Axel could tell Lily was slightly scared, and hoped that he could ease her fear.

"Do I?" Lily smiled sweetly at Axel. He could feel her anxiety. She knew. Axel knew everything about her somehow.
"You ready for this? Remember, try not to steal even if you see something you really, really want," she advised quietly with a soft giggle. "Don't want to go to court on our first date outside camp, do you?"

Axel saw lily smile and his heart skipped a beat. He loved seeing her smile. When she asked him not to steal he wondered if he could manage resisting the urge to steal. "Are you saying I could get caught?" Axel said in mock offense. Then he said "you know I think you’re the only person who could get me to agree not to steal for an entire day." Axel said. He honestly wasn’t sure if he could keep himself from stealing. It was an impulse he had always had. But if anyway could keep him from stealing it was Lily.

"Oh, but we both know that it probably won't go, and I'll forgive you anyway," Lily replied softly. It was something for him to fix, of course, but the fact that sometimes it was amusing to see others around them "losing" certain objects.
"But nothing potentially dangerous, okay?" She added with a light laugh.

Axel laughed at Lily telling him not to do anything dangerous. it was amazing how she understood him, well enough to know that he tended to throw himself into danger, as well as other things that she could predict about his behavior. Sometimes it was as though she knew what he was thinking at the same time he did. "well i guess we better be off, our chariot awaits" Axel said gesturing towards the camp bus, trying to make Lily laugh,

"Oh yes," Lily said warmly, a sly look creeping up. Axel obviously didn't have any idea about what she was planning on. It was actually the better. She didn't think he's really come along if he knew the full details of what she was planning. If anything, it didn't involve the police or monsters. Looking at the little vehicle waiting for their disposal, Lily laughed at him. It was lighter. Less forced than the other ones. This trip would be like a flashback. But a happy one. Of fuzzy feelings and laughter. Hopefully. That was why sometimes she wanted to be in a flashback. It protected her from reality. But no one knew of that fact yet.
"We best be off," she said in a exaggerated British accent, eyes glittering.

Axel smiled again and opened the door for lily, the back one. it had already occurred to him that neither could drive, but he had a plan for that. his dad was the god of travel after all, so of course Axel had found something that could help with that little problem. of course they could have had a satyr drive instead, but then Axel didnt really want a chaperone, luckily he had a magic item for Hermes to avoid any problems with teenagers driving. "After you¨ Axel said to Lily while jokingly bowing slightly.

Lily tried to act elegantly, flashing a slight smile at Axel and climbing in. That is, if a fourteen year old demigod wearing a ridiculous bunny coat could ever be elegant in any way.
"So, where shall we be heading to, Sir Axel?" she wondered if Axel would catch her drift. And if that worked......exactly how silly and playful would this trip be? She smiled at the thought to herself.
Maybe it was in fact possible to move on. Hopefully it would be. Internally, sh hoped that Axel would be the one to help her get out of the cold dark hole she's pushed herself into. No one had ever gotten her out of there yet. Not even Paul's ghost.

Axel climbed into his seat, right next to Lily, he then took out a small coin. Axel flipped it into the driver seat, and when it landed a spectral form appeared, it looked like a New York City taxi driver. Axel then turned back to Lily, "Any place you have in mind" Axel said. The Spectre would drive them anywhere. "After all your the one in charge here, Milady" Axel said continuing the joke. He knew about Lily's problems with her past. He had to keep himself from sighing when he saw the mood ring on her necklace. She still hadnt let him go. Axel had no doubt that he was in love with Lily, but did she actually have feelings for him, or was he a distraction. Something to turn her thoughts away from her Ex. Axel didnt care though, as long as he could help to pull her out of the past, and of course she would be there to keep him from killing himself by doing something insane. Axel had noticed how they balanced eachother out, long before he had realized his feelings for Lily.

"I'm not sure, Sir Axel," Lily replied brightly. "Perhaps we could start at central park?"
Inside, Lily had been anxious for weeks, fearing the exact day she was in right now. It was their first date outside, and Lily had spent ages worrying about it, thinking of things they could do, what she would wear.....stuff like that. Though she was related to love and tragedy and whatever, she didn't have a single experience related to dating. What had happened between Paul was ages ago, and she doubted that anything that worked then would work now.
