Pallas whimpered. Darkness surrounded her. She started to sob, missing her family. Her annoying four brothers and especially her father. "Why?!" she shouted weakly.

michael felt a change in the wall. it felt like a different material. he could tell it must be a door. but a door to what. he wasnt sure. however he thought the screams and insane laughter was closing in. he opened the door and backed up quickly to avoid any traps that might be behind it.

The darkness disappears, as light forms. A goddess appears before Pallas. She was bright and shining. "I am sorry, child. My father, Darkness, and my mother, Night, are controlers of the Labyrinth. They represent the evil and cruelty of this wretched place. But I am Hemera, Day. I provide light for mortals. My power is not strong here, but there is still light everywhere. Dearest, you should not be afraid of this place. Hope is always present." Hemera spoke to the young girl softly.

Anika grimanced at her father's words. No, no, it couldnt be her father. He would never say that to her, she knew that. Poseidon was kind and gentle to her. It must have been another trick of the Labyrinth, but she wasnt sure what to do about this one. It sounded so much like her father... "No," she said firmly into the air. "You are not my father. Leave me."

Pallas smiled, wiping her tears. "Thank you." she said, bowing. "I'm Pallas." She reached for her sword and continued on through the maze. "I thought King Minos controlled the Maze."

Hemera shookher head, "No, Pallas. There is no one that truly controls the Labyrinth. The monsters and fears are the only ones that can overpower this place. But like I said, I shall light your way throughout this journey."

Through the door was a garden of various plants. Poisoned ones, mostly. All had a strong stench, but there was a trail of beautiful smelling flowing which were not pousonous.

"Oh okay. And thanks." Pallas bowed once more, smiling. "Well, just a tiny favor. Can you please tell me a short story?" she asked, missing her dad's stories he used to tell her when she was only 5.

Pallas thought for a while. "Maybe about you and your family." Then she realalized her mistake. "Oops, it's okay if you don't want to talk about them." She thought a bit more. "There's a myth I never really understood. The Three Graces."

She pulled out some metal peices from her bag and played with them.

"Long ago, there was a greedy king that owned gold, gold in so many proportions that one person could only dream of. His name was Midas." Hemera told the young girl. She continued on with the story, about the Midas touch and Marygold (Midas's daughter) turning to gold.

Pallas nodded. She listened and began to doze off. "Thank you." she whispered, gold scraps and shavings still in her hand.

She still felt warm and cozy in the cold damp maze.
