TOWER OF GOD



Each floor presents a test. You may pass it, going on to the next level of the tower.
You may die trying.
You may have to go back to where you have come from.

The tower knows all.

It is not a tower, as in a building,  but as a planet.
Inside the tower, there is a substance called Sinsu. As you get higher, the pressure of the sinsu increases, like air.

Some people have the power to control this sinsu, bend it to their will. Using the sinsu, they may cause miracles.. these people are called Waveclutchers. Good waveclutchers are very rare. A waveclutcher is ranked by how many rooms he can conjure up simultaneously. A room is a ball of sinsu, tightly wad together. Only one room can serve one purpose. If you can call up 2 rooms, for example, you can use it to form a shield in front of you and attack the other person at the same time.

Then there are Lighthouse Keepers.

A lighthouse is a cube from which you can monitor anywhere you want in the testing area. A lighthouse keeper is basically the stratey maker- monitoring what is happening and thinking up a plan you lead their team to victory. They should have guile, and cleverness. They communicate the situation to other non-lighthouse keepers. And yes, they csn have more than 1 lighthouse, but remember that a lighthouse is very expensive.

Spearers are people weilding spears, or rather, weapons. They're soldiers. Not much to say on that. But every team needs a good soldier, no?

There are also Fishers. Fishers bait the enemy when needed, and are usually the quickest people. They are very, very good runners.


These go in the "job" group.


There are different ranks in the tower, too.

A person who has already reached the top of the tower, and is roaming the tower, is called a Ranker. They are considered very powerful, and looked up to with great respect.

Most of the people are the Chosen. They are chosen by the tower to try getting to the top. The tower lets them in.

There is also the Unchosen. These come out one in a century. Well, time flows differently, more slowly in the tower due to the magical sinsu, but they are stikk very rare. These people are not chosen by the tower, but are abnormals who just..became. They are not confined to the tower's rules.



Politics

The king of the tower is Jahad. He is not married, and thought of as a mysterious, but kind, being.

There are the Jahad's princesses.

Every 10 years or so, girls of high families with unusual beauty and skill is gathered at an academy. They receive harsh education for a year. The best of them is crowned as a Jahad's princess. She receives the blessing of the king, which gives her special powers. All "princesses" are very powerful. All are respected. They are not allowed to marry and have babies, because then they would pass on those powers without the permission of the king. They may be a ranker or a Chosen, either one.


There is a not-so-secret group wanting to overthrow Jahad and kill all the high families, called FUG. They are constantly looking for an Unchosen to fullfill their wishes and kill the king. It can only be an Unchosen, for Chosens must abide to the rules of the tower, giving them less freedom. They are looking for a weapon called the Thorn, which is the only weapon that can kill Jahad. Candidates for the murder is named as a FUG slayer, and is like a god to FUG followers.


Okay. Enough about politics.

There are 10 high families (powerful families)

Kun: known for their riches and guile. They are people with pride in their family name and wouldn't do things to disgrace it. Well, mostly, anyways. They are geniuses and are proud. Family trait: Light blue hair, sapphire eyes.

Yuhn: known for their ability to control fire. Doesn't have a family trait, except that. Their symbol is a lotus flower.

Hah: they have good stamina, strength, body stuff like that. They speak without hesitation, and are very direct.

Yurasia: they are good at controlling the sinsu, and LOVE sleeping.Like, they have a blanket around themselves.

Arieh: they have the most power out of the 10 families. They have a talent for swordsplay.

Tu Paeri: good lighthouse keepers.

Po Biider: good at making things

Aari:have light feet. They are good Fishers

Hendo: they have almost died out, and have become corrupt.

Liah: graceful people, with charm and beauty. Good at persuasion.



For each floor, there will be a ranker presenting the test. I'll be doing that, like a NPC. If you guys have ideas for a test, or a plot change or anything, feel free to PM me.

I don't care about the appearance of your charrie.. he might have a third eye and a jell-o body and I would still accept it. You may go up the tower in teams, and you will be forced into a team sometime... you'll see as I give out the first-second test.

No attacking each other unless it says in the test.
Bickering, yes. Enemies, yes. Anything that slows the test from starting, nooo.
I'll give you plenty of time to skewer people, just don't go wild.

Name: Arieh Mackenzie (people who know him call him, Mouse especially his family who dislike his weakness, mostly this nick name is because he is small, some people even think he is a girl because of his appearance)
Appearance: he is short and very unintimidating. he has a kind of innocent look about him. it is easy to mistake him as a girl. he has brown hair and green eyes

Personality:  he is a timid character. also very cowardly. he is friendly but rather insecure. he is the black sheep of his family because of his weakness. he is a rather innocent person and would never try to hurt another living creature.
Background: Mackenzie comes from a warrior family. they are dishonored by him because of the fact he is horrible at fighting. and the fact he refuses to fight because it hurts others.  he is climbing the tower to prove that he is worthy of his family name. even though he often doubts that himself. he is not a good warrior like the rest of his family, he is considered the black sheep of his family.

Hyrell has a slightly jokeful and optimistic, cheerful side, but she doesn't like to show it. Despite her love for fantasy stories, she has a pretty mature and stronger side. She likes to face everything and buries down all her negative thoughts - nervousness, fear, anger. 

Background: 
Hyrell had always had an interest in the "tower", but never actually had the need to climb it. 
When she was younger, she was fascinated by the people who needed to climb it to get something they want or need. There was a point in time the Hyrell had created a fake "need" to go climb the tower, and she pretended for quite a while. She never thought she'd want to ever face the dangers and risks of it, as she always saw the bright sides. She was happy living the way she was, and she believed nothing could change it.

She was a bookworm; loved to read. She was into fantasy and fiction books, things that weren't real. Things that nobody could believe. She wanted to know they were real, that what she was reading could be true. Everyone told her it was immature and sometimes even lame, but she held onto her stories. It was her dreams.

When she was older, in the teenage years, it was more stressful. More work to do, more things to make. She needed to be more responsible and more "older". She didn't like that. Everyone expected something better from her. Something more mature besides magic and fantasy and flying dragons in the air.

What if those things were real?

Hyrell knew it was foolish, but it was something she truly wanted.

There is a small flying ship from where the test is observed from. You are alone. However,  there are 999 others here.

(so is it like they are fighting to the death im picturing a kind of hunger games situation so ill just rp as if it was)  

Mackenzie was afraid. there were some trying to kill him because of his family name. they believed he would be a threat. he started running immediately when the test started. knowing the only way he would survive is by running for his life. others were already fighting... it was horrifying. he saw one boy go down and not get up. Mackenzie almost ran right to the kid to try and help him but he knew he shouldnt and that it would get him killed too. so Mackenzie just ran and tried to avoid looking at the suffering that was taking place. he almost froze when he heard someone...probably another from a royal family called out his old nickname. "MOUSE" he heard them say (completely coincidental meeting it could be NPC or a person if somebody wants)

Name: Yuhn, Vaille
Appearance: Straight lavender hair that's shorter in front (chest-length) and longer in the back (down to the small of her back); her hair is usually intricately braided with beads and gems woven into it; deceptively willow-like body, but is actually a very nimble fighter--fights like a dancer; dresses in silk dresses and see-through skirts with leggings under them; usually wears satin flats that are surprisingly good for running and high activity; wears no makeup because her beauty is so exotically striking without it

Personality: Cold to the observer's eye. She is a very purpose-oriented person, who always walks with an air of superiority and like she knows better than everyone else in the room--usually because she does. She has seen a lot of death and suffering in her time in the Tower, and has become almost immune to it. One would never know that she ever doubts what to do.
Background: From the time of her birth, Vaille was singled out as someone special. Even as a baby, her parents could tell she would be an exceptional beauty when she grew up and they raised her with the intentions of her becoming one of Jahad's Princesses. They treated and trained her as such from an extremely young age, all but ignoring her brothers and sisters. This caused her siblings to grow up hating her, especially because she was in the mindset that she was better than them. Because of all of this, Vaille is very distanced from her siblings, as well as her parents because they never really treated her like a daughter. Friends and a social life were considered unimportant and all of her time was spent training for fighting, studying, and honing her fire powers. Needless to say, when she went to the academy for Jahad's Princesses candidates, she passed as the top graduate with flying colors.
  Once achieving that, Vaille really had no other option but to climb the Tower. She discovered that she was a Waveclutcher--able to control the Sinsu of the Tower with a rare show of expertise. About halfway up the Tower, Kun (Agnis) was transferred to her group. He was the only person she made friends with. Out of the group of people she went up with, she and Kun were the only ones to make it up alive. Now Vaille is a Ranker, roaming the Tower of her own volition.

Has a full armor set, but normally leaves off the helmet unless in immediate combat. If in a relaxed moment, he takes most of it off and relaxes in a regular shirt and pants. Or no shirt, if it's hot.

Loyalty: (FUG or Jahad) err. Yes? Is "my own side" and option? lol. He's not one for causes.
Personality:Tony is a charismatic guy who likes to be in charge. He is resistatant to any sort of authority over him, and will pointedly do what he wants to do anyway. Bold and frank, Tony tells things as he sees it, which leads to several sharp insults and nicknames right off the bat. He's calculating and pragmatic, though occasionally his pride gets in the way. However, he is an empathetic person who knows how people tend to work. Which makes him much more manipulative when it comes to dealing with people to service his ambition.
Background: It was there and he could.
Other: He carries a sword along with the traditional spear. Shields are heavy and non-heroic, so he doesn't use it. (Like pretty much everyone else for whatever reason...)

((Okay, I'm giving a shot))

Hyrell could hear shouts in the background. Already? She spotted a few rankers viewing the people, possibly debating to themselves about who will make it to the top.
Hyrell didn't seem like the type that would make it.
She clenched her fists and started walking into wherever. To be honest, she didn't know where to go, and where to start, but asking a ranker seemed too selfish and thoughtless. She tensed as she tried to find the first challenge.

[Cerulaen]

((Heh, sorry guys....I get distracted by...things. Now presenting Vaille, take one!))

Vaille cast a calculating silver eye over the massacre taking place on the fields before her. Her trained vision homed in on quick, fancy moves here and there, letting her know which fighters would be more likely candidates to move onto the next level. Her gaze raked over the thousands of people, unchanging as she saw death after death. Someone being slashed by a sword here. Another being stabbed by a dagger over there. She raised an eye brow ever so slightly when an explosion went off to the right of her, felling at least a dozen people around it.

Same old, same old.

Suddenly, Vaille's internal radar started pinging. Without a second thought, she stepped to the side; an arrow whizzed past her, not two inches away from her face. Turning around, her gaze locked coldly with the arrow's shooter. The shooter, a skinny blond boy, seemed to realize his mistake too late; his eyes widened as he recognized her status, and he began to scramble backwards in an attempted escape.

Much too slow.

Clenching a hand, Vaille let energy gather in her palm for a second before opening it towards the boy. A ball of purple fire shot out towards the archer, hitting him directly in the back. It smoked against his clothes for a moment before engulfing the boy's entire body in a flash of violet. The archer fell to the ground soundlessly.

Vaille's face stayed as stoic as ever. Nobody messed with one of Jahad's Princesses.

((Not quite what I expected. ..but fun to write, nonetheless. Axel, go make Mackenzie almost die so I can finish my plan. >:-))

Mackenzie saw the person who had called his nickname out. it was a boy who Mackenzie had known for a long time. Mackenzie was surprised to see a familiar face here. the boy's name was Mark, he was from a plain family but Mackenzie did know him. they werent friends necessarily, but they had hung out once or twice.Mackenzie was when he looked at Mark. right after Mark had called out Mackenzie's old nickname he was cut down by a black haired boy with a sword. the black haired boy had 3 other people with him. Mackenzie had heard about people teaming up in the tower before. these guys obviously had teamed up to take down as many of the other people as they could. Mackenzie almost threw up at seeing them kill Mark. Then they turned to him, Mackenzie was paralyzed with fear. Is this how i will die Mackenzie thought as 2 members of the boy's group grabbed him by the arms. The black haired boy was obviously the leader. he began lifting his sword, ready to end Mackenzie's life. Mackenzie closed his eyes, he didn't want to see it happen. he fought back tears. maybe everyone was right. I don't deserve my family's name

((Lawl, I was thinking of the same kind of teaming-up strategies forming, which yes, did remind me of Hunger Games. xD Even though I've never read the books...))

  Deciding she'd had enough time to stand back and observe the fray, Vaille decided to finally take some action. Glancing down, she estimated that it was about a 15 foot drop off of the cliff ledge she was standing on. Hmm. Not too difficult. Balancing herself, Vaille crouched down on one knee for a moment before springing herself into a backflip off the cliff. She flipped over twice in the air before landing neatly on her feet, bending her knees slightly to absorb the impact through her muscles rather than her bones.

  Standing up, Vaille strode through the middle of the crowd. When people caught sight of her, no more than a few seconds passed before their eyes would widen and they parted before her. Anyone foolish enough to not move soon learned what happened when they crossed paths with a Ranker. Pausing when she reached the middle of the field, Vaille cleaned the fresh blood off of her dirk's blade with a cloth before resheathing it. Looking around, the Princess searched for something interesting happening.

  A strange name caught her ear. Mouse? she thought. Weird for a name. Narrowing her piercing eyes, her gaze darted back and forth in search of the voice's owner. She zeroed in on a dark-haired boy with a weapon that was painfully too large for him. It didn't surprise her when she saw him fall to the sword of a larger black-haired boy. She hummed thoughtfully to herself when she saw the black-haired boy and two others with him make their way over to another boy. This boy was even smaller than the last, with hair so long that she almost mistook him for a girl--only his lacking in the chest area alerted her to his male gender. He didn't appear to have any weapon, or at least none that she could see, and he made no move to defend himself when the black-haired boy's two cronies held his arms back so he couldn't move. The leader seemed to be taking his sweet time making his kill, most likely to terrorize his victim in his last moments.

  And there lay his mistake.

  Quick as a wink, Vaille had her smallest weapon in the black-haired boy's back. She felt him stiffen in pain and surprise. "Never prolong the final blow, Macho. Someone just might get you first." And with that, she let her dagger rip upwards.

  The two cronies watched their leader fall dead to the ground in horror, and when they locked gazes with her, they needed no second warning to get the heck out. Vaille ignored them in favor of studying the small boy who'd just had a close call with the Reaper. Still seeing no evidence of a weapon, she held out her bloodied dagger. "If you want to keep living without me, I suggest you learn how to use this."

Mackenzie opened his eyes when he heard a voice. for a moment he thought he actually had died. then he realized where he was. in front of him there was a girl. his eyes searched a little, and he saw the body of the black haired boy. the girl spoke again. "If you want to keep living without me, I suggest you learn how to use this"  Mackenzie saw that the girl was holding out for him a dagger. there was no doubt it was what had killed the larger boy. "th-thank you." Mackenzie said taking the knife. he knew a little about knife fighting, though he was not necessarily good at it. Mackenzie also knew that he would never be able to force himself to use this knife on a person. "but...why did you....save me" Mackenzie could practically hear his father chastising him for being such a coward.

Vaille looked down at the boy; he was a good head shorter than her. Getting a better look at him, she realized he was even more pitiful looking up close than from a distance. He was painfully small and skinny, looking like he'd never seen a weapon in his life. Or blood, for that matter. Vaille's immediate impression would've been that he was of a regular family, but he wouldn't be here otherwise. Unless he was an Unchosen, which she found rather hard to believe--she couldn't fathom what kind of motivation this...child would have to climb the Tower. She decided that he was perhaps from Liah, considering his rather effeminate, pretty face. But then, he didn't seem very sure of himself, either. Hmm.

" 'Save' is a rather loose term," she replied. " 'Prolonging your suffering' would be a more suiting description. Think about that." She raised a hand engulfed in purple flame to make her point, raising an eyebrow. "I wouldn't stay in one place too long...Mouse."

(Wait, so we have teams? Or do we make them as we meet each other?)

Well, in another part of the battlefield, Tony was having quite a bit of fun. Nothing beats a good hack-and-slash. Exhilarating, really. He had taken down a group of some sort of weird creatures. Once they were down, he bounced from toe to toe, laughing to himself. Well, let's see. There were 5 of them, so that leaves at most 995 opponents left in the arena. Not too shabby.

Tony spotted another person, and charged forward with a shout. Who needs subtlety? After a short battle, the guy was on the ground with a rather large hole in his chest. Tony was tugging his spear out when he had to quickly duck under another strike. He let go of the spear and drew his sword to fend off the attacker. He slashed her across the chest. Tony couldn't help but straighten up a bit as he noticed his opponent was a she.
"I'm sorry, I know it's rude to hit a lady, but in my defense-" He ducked under another attack and rammed his shoulder into her. She fell. "You attacked first." He finished with a shrug. Apparently, she knew she was beaten and ran off.
"Wait up, Ms 995!" He called with a wry grin, darting after her. She was pretty fast, and probably would have gotten away even with her injuries if it hadn't been for the trap.

Antonio skidded to a stop, and his smile had vanished. It was a rather gruesome too. He examined it coldly, noting the fact that he hadn't noticed it at all before it ripped someone apart.
"Traps." He said aloud. He frowned to himself. Of course people would set traps. Not everyone turned their brains off for things like this. Antonio took another look at the scene. "I suppose that means I need to start thinking too."

He took a few steps back, then turned around to head back the way he came. He had to fetch his spear, after all. He sheathed his sword. And the first step in a good plan is to fix his hand. That meant he would need to ensure he got a good part of the 300.

Antonio wandered the plains for a bit, this time being more aware of his surroundings. It seems he chose the wrong part of the plains. It didn't look like anyone was out here. That's when he heard someone. He dropped down to use the mild cover the grasslands afforded. He would start the meeting on his terms. Walking past was a brown haired girl with a grey jacket. He studied her for a long moment, measuring her usefulness. She seemed light of frame, and wasn't equipped for combat. She appeared to have a lighter frame, like a runner. The shoes to match, too. If equipped, she might make a decent scout, or someone who could help draw opponents into an ambush. If nothing else, she could be an extra person that probably couldn't stab him in the back. Antonio thought about that for a moment. Even if it turned out she wasn't the best companion, she would be another person that held out the ending of the game until he could find more qualified companions. If he just let her wander, she could get herself killed and turn out to be 756 instead of the much more useful 301.

Welp. No point in taking any more time to consider it. For all he knew, the count could already be at 895.
Tony stood up quickly and gave a sharp whistle.
"I'm a friendly!" He called. "Let's talk!"

((Ceru, no. You cannot, since then you'd be more confined to the team. You can decide that you want to watch in the flying ship when that part comes. I'll leave you guys to do some hacking for a few more posts and go on to the next part of test 1. You'll see, Jake.I'm just gonna go ahead and make a character.. I'm bored xD))

Name: Kun Agero Agnis(Agnus)

Appearance: Light blue hair- long for a boy- slightly under his chin. He has sapphire blue eyes with long light blue lashes. He is really, really, really good looking. Pale, fair skin, and small muscles. On the slim side. He usually wears a crisp white shirt with a collar. He has a small blue earring in one ear.

Job: Lighthouse Keeper

Family: Kun

Loyalty: Jahad, I guess.

Personality: He is just like Artemis Fowl. He can be a bit arrogant, and is confident in his powers and wits. However, he is very loyal and determined. Once he truly becomes your very good friend, he would die in order to save you. He's the type of person who thinks through everything thoroughly, and does anything to get his goal. In this perspective, he might seem a bit cold and ruthless. He has the air of a person of high rank, if not a royal.

You can see the skill and determination in the way that he trained his initial team to be one of the best in the tower. A team of novices, in fact. But then, before he grew too attached to them, he was transferred to Vaille's group. They were happy to have him there.

He's a master at lying, trickery, deceit. He's also good at getting under people's skin, and is a genius tactician.

Background: Kun was born into the Kun family, one of many political power fights. His branch of the family lost, and he was normally ignored. "We have lost, Agero,' his mother had told him. 'I am sorry. We have nothing now. You must find your own way.'

Kun hated it. Perhaps it was this kind of environment that led to his manner. He was still rich, with tons of resources, but he had gotten every one of them himself. Well, almost every one of them.

After he made his sister, Maria, into a Jahad princess (she was the only member of his family he loved, and he sought to make her happy this way. He regrets that he didn't know how to hold his hand out and ask her to climb the tower with him.), he decided to go into the tower himself.

To prepare, he helped himself to a small portion of his father's treasury. His father was an influential man, and had all sorts of items.

It was from there he got his precious Manberondena. Manberondena was a briefcase, one that could duplicate anything that was put inside it. Not only that, it could store anything of any size, of any quantity. It was magical. Kun stored his throwing knives there.

It was using this Manberondena that he passed the first few tests with ease.

Not only that, but he had come up with other valuable items as well, ones that could only be found in the Kun storage.


Other: He carries his Manberondena around. He is skilled with his throwing knives. His sister, Maria, became one of the most important princesses with his help. He was in Vaille's team, and is her old friend.

He is called simply Kun.

Mackenzie felt threatened. he could now tell this girl was a ranker. and from the Yuhn family judging by her fiery display. when she said she was just prolonging his suffering. that had made Mackenzie really worried. there was only one real skill he had that could be of use to anyone here. when she said "I wouldn't stay in one place too long...Mouse." he was on his feet. he just wanted to live. he had heard the stories about the tower. everyone thought he had been joking when he said he was going to try to climb the tower. everyone in his family knew he didnt like violence. he knew he could never intentionally hurt another person...let alone kill them. so without another word he ran. avoiding all the people he could. he knew if he could survive long enough he could find a group he could join. Mackenzie might not have been a good warrior, but he was a gifted healer. after the huge fighting that was going on...that skill could be very valuable.
